Flipkart launches app-in-app 'Spoyl' targetting Gen Z

Flipkart announced the launch of its app-within-app 'Spoyl', offering over 40,000 products in Western wear, footwear, and accessories to attract the Gen Z crowd.

In a move to boost customer engagement on its platform, eCommerce retail giant, Flipkart, announced on August 17th the launch of an app-within-app 'Spoyl'. This new app will offer over 40,000 products in Western wear, footwear, and accessories categories to the Gen Z crowd, that forms around 25% of its audience. Besides Spoyl, Flipkart has launched live commerce and an AI assistant.


Similar strategies have been adopted by Flipkart's subsidiary Myntra, which launched in-app shopping vertical for Gen Z in May this year. Amazon India also offers free OTT content via MiniTV within its shopping app.


Spoyl will offer brands like the Souled Store, Snitch, Tokyo Talkies, and Campus Sutra. Besides, Flipkart has entered tier 2 and beyond markets with the zero-commission portal Shopsy, which competes directly with Meesho.
