Hospitality, travel, food delivery, and online streaming platform Disney Hotstar expect to gain the most returns from Cricket World Cup 2023, which begins in India on October 5th.

After twelve years, India is hosting the Cricket World Cup, and the nation’s economy could not be more prepared. While travel and hospitality gain the most from such events every time, private jet bookings, food delivery, and eCommerce are expected to reap bucketloads of windfall gains this time.

Private jet service providers like BookMyJet have seen a jump in bookings, especially for the Indo-Pak match on October 14th in Ahmedabad. Individuals are hiring private jets for family and friends as companies reserve 100-seater private jets for corporate tickets. Prices are expected to shoot further up by 20%.

The hotel industry has pumped their rates by 300% across the ten host cities, especially in Pune and Dharamshala. In fact, Airbnb accommodation searches in Ahmedabad have skyrocketed by 4,000%. Online portals like OYO and MakeMyTrip are raking up their hotel inventory. Disney Hotstar, the official broadcaster, will earn up to ₹2,200 crores.
