In the morning, at 9 am on May 9th, Pakistan’s Economic Affairs Division posted on X, seeking additional loans and financial aid from the global economy. The post was later deleted, and the country’s government stated that their account had been hacked.
The post said, “Govt of Pakistan appeals to International Partners for more loans after heavy losses inflected by enemy. Amid escalating war and stocks crash, we urge international partners to help de-escalate. Nation urged to remain steadfast.” It tagged the World Bank in the post.
The US stepped in seeking an immediate de-escalation. The entire 27 states of the European Union unequivocally condemned the Pahalgam attack, and UK MPs backed India’s Operation Sindoor. France’s foreign minister and Israel’s ambassador to India supported India’s right to defend itself. The Dutch MP Geert Wilders posted that Kashmir is 100% Indian and used #PakistanBehindPahalgam in his X post, ET reported.
