  • Quick commerce worth $5 bn in three years, half of the online grocery industry | Salestors.com

< Back Quick commerce worth $5 bn in three years, half of the online grocery industry 2 May 2024 As per Goldman Sachs, Zomato’s quick commerce arm, Blinkit’s implied value is now more than that of the food delivery business. Zomato bought Blinkit in June 2022 for $568 million, now implied to be worth $13 billion. In March 2023, it was evaluated at around $2 billion. Blinkit’s gross order value (GOV) is expected to grow at a CAGR of 53% between FY 2024 and 2027, compared to Zomato’s projected CAGR of 38%. The massive, unorganised grocery industry, high population density in urban cities, and a profitable ratio of delivery costs to average order values drive the demand for Blinkit. The absence of intermediaries and organised channels in the online grocery domain and the large scale of operations give quick commerce platforms the pricing advantage. With around 7,000 SKUs, these platforms are better organised than Kirana stores, which own around 2,000 SKUs. Quick commerce was launched with Zepto in April 2021. Today, it owns 50% of the market share, which is expected to reach 70% by FY 2027. Previous Next

  • BluSmart to go back to partnering with Uber | Salestors.com

< Back BluSmart to go back to partnering with Uber 16 Apr 2025 It started its journey in January 2019 by operating EVs for Uber and building expertise. Building on the foundation of operating EVs for Uber in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, BluSmart gradually ventured into offering its EV ride-hailing services. Its fleet then comprised the Tata e-Tigor and Mahindra e-Verito, among others. It also briefly expanded into Dubai. The high cost of maintaining the unsellable EV fleet mounted its monthly losses to ₹20 crore. Financial distress at its promoter firm, Gensol Engineering, deepened its troubles. BluSmart’s attempt to raise $50 million earlier this year did not fruit. To reduce its operational and financial risk, BluSmart is planning a strategic partnership, which will allow it to operate its fleet for Uber. Uber started its EV services, Green, in 2023, intending to deploy 25,000 EVs through partners like Lithium Urban Technologies, Moove, and Everest Fleet. BluSmart will earn a portion of the fares for its owned or leased cars booked via Uber. Uber will retain the commission, as per usual. Never miss another post from SalestorrsNews150. • Union govt directs Mumbai airport to reduce flights from this week | Salestors.com

< Back Union govt directs Mumbai airport to reduce flights from this week 13 Feb 2024 The move will force airlines to cancel up to 40 daily flights, besides charters, to ease congestion and improve on-time flight performance. The Union government asked the Mumbai airport to reduce the number of daily flights and restrict business jet movement to curb congestion. Mumbai is the second busiest airport in the country after Delhi. Airports Authority of India (AAI) directed the airport to decrease aircraft movement from 46 to 44 during peak hours and from 44 to 42 during non-peak hours. This will push IndiGo to curb at least 18 flights per day, the highest number of daily departures. The Air India Group, including Vistara, will have to reduce 17 daily flights. Moreover, the curfew on daily operations of business jets has been spiked from four to eight hours. This has drawn protests from Reliance Industries, Mahindra Group, and JSW. The airport’s declining on-time performance led to this directive. Airport network operators said this could incite severe challenges related to aircraft redeployment and compensation payouts to affected passengers, causing financial losses. Previous Next
