Le gouvernement indien dirigé par Narendra Modi a approuvé mercredi la mission Chandrayaan-4, qui vise à mettre en place les capacités technologiques de base pour faire atterrir un Indien sur la lune d’ici à 2040. L’Inde a pour objectif d’amener le sol lunaire d’ici 2027. Le point culminant de la mission est le retour de la sonde sur terre, ce qui n’a pas été réalisé avec Chandrayaan-3. L’Organisation indienne de recherche spatiale (ISRO) assurera la gestion et le suivi de la mission. La mission coûtera ₹2 104.06 crore (253 millions de dollars) et devrait être achevée dans les 36 mois suivant l’approbation du gouvernement. Le coût couvrira le développement et la réalisation de l’engin spatial, deux missions du lanceur LVM3, l’appui au réseau externe de l’espace lointain et d’essais spéciaux pour la validation e la conception. This will enable these non-partner sellers to use Amazon’s warehouses and storage facilities for storing, picking, packing, and shipping their products through multiple sales channels, including their own website. Amazon recently signed an MoU with India Post to facilitate cross-border logistics so its sellers in India can smoothly send their products abroad. It is also partnering with Indian Railways’ Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India to offer seamless domestic logistics solutions to its sellers in the country. The eCommerce giant pledged to log $8 billion of exports from India in 2023. On the tech front, Amazon will soon roll out a generative AI tool and virtual assistant, Amazon Sahai, to help sellers on its platform clarify queries, list products, and analyse trends. In FY2024, imports from China rose by 3.24% to $101.7 billion, and exports increased by 8.7% to $16.67 billion. The latest report by the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) shows that India’s trade with China has increased while its trade with the US has decreased. India relies heavily on China for telecom, advanced technology, and pharmaceutical imports. India imported 44% of the smartphone and telecom parts worth $4.2 billion, 77% of laptop and PC parts worth $3.8 billion, and 75% of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles from China last financial year. To reduce this dependency, India has taken steps like production-linked incentive schemes, quality control orders, and anti-dumping duties. India's second-largest trade partner is Russia. Last year, our imports from Russia spiked by 952% to $61.44 billion, and exports increased by 78.3% to $4.26 billion. Launched in September, JSW MG’s Windsor runs at an ex-showroom price of ₹9.9 lakh without the battery. It outsold its competitors in October 2024 with 3,116 unit sales compared with Tata Nexon at 1,593 units and Tata Curvv at 1,542 units. What’s driving this trend for JSW MG is their newly launched Battery as a Service (BaaS) model, which allows customers to buy the vehicle, lease the battery, and pay only for the kilometres driven. Consumers can swap the rented battery at a network provider for an average rent of ₹3.5/km, a maintenance cost of ₹0.5/km, and a charging price of ₹1/km, where charging is offered free for the first year. Ultimately, a Windsor SUV costs ₹4.75/km without GST to the consumers. The other Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) cars cost ₹8-9/km. Nashik-based Right Tight Fasteners (RTF) will acquire Aurangabad-based BG Fastening and Engineering, Fontana Gruppo’s existing operations in India. Then, Fontana Gruppo will invest ₹1,000 crore to buy 60% stake in RTF. RTF is India’s second largest automotive fastener maker. It operates four facilities in Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, and Tamil Nadu and supplies parts like nuts, bolts, and screws to M&M, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Royal Enfield, Ola Electric, and Bajaj Auto. RTF’s leadership will spearhead the new entity, which will become one of the largest fastener makers in India. In February, the Carlyle Group, a private equity firm, acquired a 70% stake for $400 million in the entity combined after the merger of Roop Automotives and Highway Industries. In 2024, Bain Capital invested in RSB Transmissions. Microsoft faced antitrust issues in the UK and the US after its initial investment in 2019 and the boardroom battle of 2023 that led to the ousting and reinstatement of Sam Altman. India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is leading the Air India AI 171 plane crash investigation. The leading and global assisting teams will follow the international protocols of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). The UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) sent an investigation team. Led by British Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, they will work under the ‘expert status’ following the death of 53 British nationals in the crash. Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the lone survivor, is a British citizen of Indian origin. The US is sending the National Transportation Safety Board officials to assist with the investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) team will offer technical support and review safety data. Boeing and GE Aerospace engineers will analyse the crash wreckage and engine performance. The crash site temperature reached nearly 1,000 degrees, making the rescue attempts difficult. Tata Group has offered the victims' families an ₹1 crore ex-gratia payment.
