  • Delayed sweeping, greening add to NCR pollution | Salestors.com

< Back Delayed sweeping, greening add to NCR pollution 20 Nov 2024 In the absence of appropriate greening of pavements and road cleaning, dust adds to the pollution from stubble burning. Besides stubble burning, several geographical and meteorological factors contribute to NCR’s pollution season. Preventing these is possible only by preponing the paddy harvest season as done before 2009. To conserve groundwater by delaying paddy harvest, the Punjab and Haryana Preservation of Subsoil Water Act, 2009, postponed the harvest season to October-November from June-October. With this change, the sowing season aligned with the monsoons, thus helping save water but triggering stubble burning in the absence of rains. Towards dust control, by July, 85 Mechanical Road Sweeping Machines (MRSMs) were deployed in Delhi against the target of 206 for 2024. UP, Haryana, and Rajasthan received most of their targeted MRSMs. By July end, 199 km of centre verges remained ungreened and 278 km of roadsides left unpaved. Road dust contributes 40% of PM10 and 20% of PM2.5. EV charging infrastructure targets remained unachieved, with 3,100 stations ready against a target of 4,793. Previous Next

< Back One Nation, One Subscription: India’s centralised library 3 Dec 2024 It will be a one-stop online library offering academic institutions centralised access to global research publications. The Union Cabinet passed a bill last week charting the way to introduce ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ (ONOS) – a JSTOR-like online library. JSTOR is an American digital library of academic resources, including books and journals. This step will streamline the availability of educational resources for students and professors in public sector institutions. The Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET), the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) autonomous inter-university centre, will manage and coordinate national subscriptions. It will offer access to around 13,000 e-journals from 30 major global publishers. ₹6,000 crore have been allocated for this scheme for the next three calendar years, 2025-27. The Department of Higher Education will launch a centralised portal offering access to the digital library. • Market manipulation or negotiation? The reason for Trump’s tariff reversal | Salestors.com

< Back Market manipulation or negotiation? The reason for Trump’s tariff reversal 10 Apr 2025 Trump announced a 90-day pause on tariffs for 75 nations that reached out to negotiate tariff deals. After the global market crash, several trade allies queued up to negotiate better deals with the US. In return, President Donald Trump paused their tariffs for 90 days for 75 nations. They will now face just the baseline 10% tariffs. On April 9th, Trump asked the global investors to “be cool” and declared that“this is a great time to buy”. Later, he announced the tariff pause, inciting mixed reactions. After the announcement, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said it was always part of the plan. As global stock markets rebound, Trump hiked tariffs on China to 125% as a punishment for retaliation, but he remains open to a deal. For Canada and Mexico, the Fentanyl and non-USMCA (US- Mexico- Canada Trade Agreement) tariffs remain intact at 25%. India, the only country to pursue negotiations since the beginning of the Trump administration, will face the baseline 10% tariffs. Never miss another post from SalestorrsNews150. Son équipe compte aujourd’hui douze personnes qui travaillent 24 heures sur 24. Bluesky a gagné en popularité au Brésil après que X y a été interdit, Musk ayant refuse de se conformer à une décision de justice et de suspendre certains comptes. • Global markets bleed after Trump’s tariff threat to EU | Salestors.com

< Back Global markets bleed after Trump’s tariff threat to EU 21 Jan 2026 President Trump’s threat of higher tariffs on European allies unless they support his decision to take over Greenland triggered a sharp downturn in financial markets. The S&P 500 dropped over 2% for the first time since October. The Vix volatility index, Wall Street’s fear gauge, rose to its highest level since November. Across Asia, India’s Sensex and Nifty dropped around 1.3-1.4%. Indian Rupee slid to 91 per USD, a record low. Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped 0.5%, Taiwan’s Taiex index fell by over 1%, The uncertainty fuelled a broad sell-off across major indices, with sectors exposed to international trade and global supply chains hit hardest. Across several documented text exchanges, Trump told Norway’s Prime Minister that because Norway “decided not to give [him] the Nobel Peace Prize,” he no longer felt obligated to “think purely of peace” and would instead focus on what he believed was best for the United States. These messages were confirmed by the Norwegian Prime Minister, who emphasised that the Nobel Prize is awarded by an independent committee, not the Norwegian government. • OpenAI raises $40bn in funding, announces an open gen AI | Salestors.com

< Back OpenAI raises $40bn in funding, announces an open gen AI 1 Apr 2025 It is the biggest funding raised by a startup ever. On Monday, OpenAI made two announcements. First, it raised $40 billion in the latest funding round from SoftBank Group, valuing it at $300 billion —nearly double its $157 billion valuation in October 2024. SoftBank will initially infuse $10 billion, followed by an additional $30 billion by year-end, contingent upon specific conditions. One critical requirement is for OpenAI to transition to a for-profit model. If not met, OpenAI will forfeit up to 25% of the agreed-upon funding amount. This investment will support OpenAI’s $500 billion Stargate initiative, a significant AI project being developed in partnership with Oracle, SoftBank, and Abu Dhabi’s MGX. Second, it is building its first more open generative AI to compete with Meta’s Llama and DeepSeek, a significant shift from OpenAI’s usual, more secured, closed AI models. OpenAI’s latest image generator tool added one million users within the first hour after launch, thus heating its graphic processing units. Never miss another post from SalestorrsNews150. < Back Starlink launches satellite internet in 9 stations across India 24 Oct 2025 Noida, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Hyderabad are among the first cities to receive internet access. Starlink will establish gateway earth stations in 9 Indian cities to launch its satellite internet services. It applied for 600 Gbps capacity via its Gen 1 satellite constellation. The Department of Telecommunications provisionally assigned spectrum to Starlink for service demos. It hasn’t yet been granted the license for commercial operations. Only Indian nationals will initially be given access to operate the gateway stations. The demo data will be stored in India, and fortnightly reports will be submitted to DoT and security agencies. Starlink terminals in Manipur and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands were previously misused, prompting the government to be more cautious about its rollout. Once cleared, its commercial services will offer broadband via Low Earth Orbit Satellites, covering remote locations across India. If TRAI finalises the pricing this year, Starlink will be able to begin services by early 2026. Check out my new book, THE BLACK FLAMES , on Amazon Kindle. • What catapulted PhysicsWallah from ₹24 cr to ₹800 cr in three years? | Salestors.com

< Back What catapulted PhysicsWallah from ₹24 cr to ₹800 cr in three years? 8 Nov 2023 Charges much lower than the market, PW targeted the lower student pyramid, hooked them to free YouTube videos, and garnered a massive audience who paid the low fee for their classes. High volume of registrations from students who craved more after watching their free YouTube sessions. This formula got PhysicsWallah levitating above the others. The humble physics tutor, who commenced classes in 2020, reported a revenue of ₹ 24 crores in FY 2021 that jumped to ₹800 crores in FY 2023. They focus on quality content for low prices. Their significant amount of YouTube content hooked the students at the bottom of the academic pyramid. Usually, they get up to 50,000 students per batch, and last year alone, they taught 1.65 million students. They can keep the fees low because the extremely high registration volume compensates for it. While the other edtech companies focused on the top 20% of students whom they could charge a higher fee, Physics Wallah targeted the bottom 80% who could only afford exam registration charges, not the abundant offline tuition they need.
