A la suite des entretiens entre le Premier ministre indien Narendra Modi et le président américain Joe Biden à Wilmington, les deux pays ont annoncé le lancement d’une usine nationale de fabrication de semi-conducteurs. Il s’agit du premier partenariat de fabrication de semi-conducteurs entre les deux pays. L’usine fabriquera des semi-conducteurs infrarouges, en nitrure de gallium et en carbure de silicium. Elle beneficiera du soutien de la mission indienne sur les semi-conducteurs et d’un partenariat stratégique entre 3rdiTech, Bharat Semi, et l’US Space Force. Outre les télécommunications de la prochaine génération, l’usine créera des puces pour l’électronique de puissance et la détection avancée pour la sécurité nationale, ainsi que des applications dans le domaine de l’énergie verte. Il s’agira de la première installation de fabrication multi-matériaux pour la sécurité nationale. < Back Govt to ease the process for imports from FTA countries 25 Jul 2024 The government has proposed to accept self-certification as proof of origin of goods from nations with whom India has Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). The interim budget is replacing the word ‘ certificate’ with ‘proof’ in section 28DA of the Customs Act. Currently, the import process demands a certificate of origin for customs clearance and payment of duties. Proof of origin is a declaration issued as per the trade agreement between two countries. It declares that the incoming goods fulfil the country of origin criteria and the trade agreement requirements. The process was simplified for two reasons. First, Chinese products are being imported to India via other countries with whom we have an FTA. Second, industry associations, especially those in the electronics sector, sought an easier import clearance process. After India’s issues with China, the origin certificates were being carefully scrutinised. But now, this move is expected to contribute to the ease of doing business in India. India’s imports grew from over USD 437 billion in FY2023 to USD 675.4 billion in FY2024. Previous Next

< Back One app to track air, sea, land, and rail cargo coming soon 21 Dec 2023 National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) is involved in developing the app. The NICDC is developing an app to track all consignments travelling by air, land, sea, road or rail. It will track and trace shipments according to their specific tracking codes, gauge the reliability of truck movement, and facilitate vehicle visibility in real time. This reduces lead time for the import-export cycle. It also identifies empty trucks and containers within a 50-kilometre radius, which enhances logistics efficiency, reduces inventory carrying costs and improves empty container management. It aims to bring down logistics costs to 5-6% of the GDP, compared to around 9% in FY22. Over 700 companies in the logistics, shipping, courier, and manufacturing domains have signed up on the app. Last year, the government launched a Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) under the National Logistics Policy (NLP), integrating 35 software of different ministries. Ils mettent très longtemps à se dégrader et sont donc appelés « polluants éternels ». Les Verts l’ont présenté à l’Assemblée nationale, ou il a été adopté par 231 voix contre 51. Le président Emmanuel Macron va maintenant le signer. RAT can generate enough power to enable critical aircraft components to work properly. Investigators believe the RAT was working for AI 171 before it crashed, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. Lone survivor, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh’s testimony about hearing a loud bang followed by the flickering of cabin lights conforms with RAT deployment, as per aviation experts. Meanwhile, DGCA’s investigation revealed no safety concerns in Air India’s 787 fleet. AI 171 had its right engine replaced in March 2025. After the Zee-Sony deal was cancelled in January 2024, Zee turned the situation around and posted a ₹13.35 crore profit in the quarter ending March 2024. This profit is attributed to the recovery in macro advertising spending, especially by FMCG consumers, and a 10.6% hike in domestic ad revenue in the last quarter of FY2024. It spent ₹366.59 crore till September 2023 on compliance and making many irreversible changes to ensure the success of the Sony deal. It earned ₹58.5 crore profit in Q3 FY2024. However, the two companies couldn't reach an agreement on leadership. By the time it was finalised, Sony decided to end the deal and sue Zee for a $90 million termination fee. While visiting Croatia on June 18th, PM Modi announced enhanced defence cooperation between the two countries. India invited Croatian firms to invest in its coastal infrastructure development and shipbuilding. India will invest in Croatian semiconductors, clean tech, IT, and pharma industries. India will share its space expertise, and educational institutes of both countries will conduct research projects together. India finalised a five-year cultural exchange programme with Croatia and will soon sign a mobility agreement to facilitate people’s movement between the two countries. Croatia’s major ports, Rijeka, Ploce, and Split, are a part of the EU’s TEN-T network and support trans-European trade. These can offer an alternate entry into Europe in the troubled Suez Canal and Red Sea routes. Croatia is an EU and NATO member and can offer India access to their regulatory systems. On February 19th, Google inaugurated the ‘Ananta’ campus in Bengaluru, one of its largest globally. Located in Mahadevapura, Ananta spans over 1.6 million square feet and can accommodate more than 5,000 staff. It hosts a central gathering space called ‘Sabha’, tactile flooring for ease of navigation for the visually impaired, eco-friendly architecture with one of India’s largest installations of electrochromic glass, a sculpted fluid façade for architectural interest, and complete wastewater recycling. Ananta is constructed like a mini city with an elaborate street network for easy navigation, landscaped gardens, jogging routes, a gym, and compact neighbourhoods. Google is also about to finalise the locations for its retail stores in India, the only ones outside the US where it operates five outlets. Mirroring Apple, it aims to sell Pixel phones, earbuds, and smartwatches in these stores. The stores may span 15,000 square feet and take at least six months to inaugurate. The Bajaj family council chose this domain because of the high demand for hospital chains in metro cities and the increasing corporate culture in the healthcare sector. Nirav Bajaj, the MD of the Group’s steel venture, Mukand, is supervising the strategic decisions and will likely head the new healthcare entity. This new entity will mark the first significant diversification since the group lost its patriarch, Rahul Bajaj, in February 2022. The 98-year-old group is into automobiles, iron and steel, lighting, home appliances, insurance, travel and finance sectors. Pour atteindre cet objectif, son gouvernement établit trois unités au Gujarat et en Assam pour l’assemblage, le test et l’emballage de puces semiconductrices. Trois entreprises créeront les usines semiconductrices – Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test (TSAT) et CG Power. TEPL créera l’usine en association avec Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp (PSMC) de Taiwan. L’usine fabriquera 50 000 plaquettes mensuel, ainsi que des puces d’ordinateur a haute performance et de gestion de l’énergie. L’installation de TSAT à Assam développera 48 millions d’unités journalier. CG Power s’est associé à Renesas Electronics Corporation de Japon et à Stars Microelectronics de Thaïlande pour installer l’usine à Sanand dans Gujarat.
