- Trump’s Pro-Russia, Anti-Russia stance | Salestors.com
< Back Trump’s Pro-Russia, Anti-Russia stance 5 Aug 2025 Imports of several minerals and metals from Russia are at a steady rise despite the Oval Office’s building pressure on New Delhi. US imports from Russia increased 23% year-on-year to $2.1 billion between 2025 and May. The US International Trade Commission (USITC) reports that fertiliser imports from Russia rose 21%, uranium by 28% for its nuclear industry, and palladium by 37% for EV manufacturing this year. EU, too, logged goods trade worth €67.5 billion with Russia in 2024. Trump’s backlash at India, as per global analysts, is due to the building frustration after the diplomatic outreach efforts with Russia collapsed. Trump announced he would end the Ukraine War in one week of taking office. He sent his close aide, Steve Witkoff, to Moscow four times for direct negotiations with the Russian officials. In February 2025, the US blocked a UN resolution, which condemned Russia as the aggressor in the Ukraine War, and proposed a counter-resolution omitting any mention of Russian aggression. When the shocked EU nations included “full-scale invasion” in the counter-resolution, the US abstained from voting for its own proposal. After repeated defeats to get Moscow to agree, Trump self-declared August 8 th a non-negotiable deadline for Russia to stop the aggression in Ukraine. Never miss another post from SalestorrsNews150.
- Jio to launch satellite internet in India | Salestors.com
< Back Jio to launch satellite internet in India 15 Jun 2024 Orbit Connect India, a joint venture between Jio Platforms and Luxembourg-based SES, will provide satellite internet across India. Orbit Connect India secured the approval of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) to offer satellite internet across India. It gathered three approvals between April and June 2024, which allowed it to position satellites above India. However, it will need more approvals, for instance, from the Department of Telecommunications, to begin operations. Amazon’s Kuiper and Elon Musk-owned Starlink are still awaiting approval to offer satellite internet in India. The British Satellite Telecom firm Immarsat and OneWeb, backed by Eutelsat Bharti Enterprises, also obtained approval from IN-SPACe to operate satellite internet in India. Given the demand for satellite internet, especially in rural India, the market is expected to grow by 36% to reach ₹16,000 crore in the next five years. Elon Musk's cancellation of his visit to India in April and departure to Beijing instead seems to have hit a nerve with the government. Previous Next
- Union govt directs Mumbai airport to reduce flights from this week | Salestors.com
< Back Union govt directs Mumbai airport to reduce flights from this week 13 Feb 2024 The move will force airlines to cancel up to 40 daily flights, besides charters, to ease congestion and improve on-time flight performance. The Union government asked the Mumbai airport to reduce the number of daily flights and restrict business jet movement to curb congestion. Mumbai is the second busiest airport in the country after Delhi. Airports Authority of India (AAI) directed the airport to decrease aircraft movement from 46 to 44 during peak hours and from 44 to 42 during non-peak hours. This will push IndiGo to curb at least 18 flights per day, the highest number of daily departures. The Air India Group, including Vistara, will have to reduce 17 daily flights. Moreover, the curfew on daily operations of business jets has been spiked from four to eight hours. This has drawn protests from Reliance Industries, Mahindra Group, and JSW. The airport’s declining on-time performance led to this directive. Airport network operators said this could incite severe challenges related to aircraft redeployment and compensation payouts to affected passengers, causing financial losses. Previous Next
- India-West Asia-EU Corridor to make travel 40% faster | Salestors.com
< Back India-West Asia-EU Corridor to make travel 40% faster Ishita Nigam 12 Sept 2023 The corridor will connect India's West Coast to the Middle East via shipping lines, pass through UAE, Saudi, Jordan, and Israel via a railway line, and enter the Mediterranean via France, Germany, and Italy. Leaders from India, the US, UAE, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, Africa and the EU unveiled a Memorandum of Understanding to build a trade corridor connecting Asia, Africa and Europe. The new passage will provide neutral trade opportunities for manufacturing, food security and supply chain logistics. It will have two sections: the East Corridor connecting India to the Gulf and the Northern Corridor connecting the Gulf to Europe. This challenges the decade-old Chinese Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) that India has always opposed. The BRI acted as China’s tool to dominate developing nations by creating a debt trap and strategic issues. Many countries have started opposing the BRI, including Italy, that had joined the Chinese project in 2019. It is expected to reduce shipping time and expenses, fuel consumption, and make commerce between India and the Mediterranean more sustainable, faster, and cheaper. Previous Next

- Income Tax Bill 2025 may improve compliance | Salestors.com
< Back Income Tax Bill 2025 may improve compliance 13 Feb 2025 It introduces the term ‘Tax Year’ – 12 months from April 1. The term will replace the existing concept of assessment and previous years. The new Income Tax Bill is proposed to be implemented from April 1, 2026. It rewrites the direct tax law to improve compliance and reduce litigation. It retains the old tax regime, rates, and capital gains for individuals and businesses. There will be no change in tax rates or introduction of any new taxes for individual salaries. However, the Bill consolidates deductions like standard deduction, gratuity, and Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) into one place and introduces a formula for calculating depreciation and taxes. Incomes not included in the total income that were earlier part of the main body of the IT Act have been shifted to separate schedules to simply the new Bill. The Bill introduces Section 275 )6) mandating the Dispute Resolution Panel (DRP) to provide detailed directions, explaining the points of determination, the decision, and its reasons. < Back Flipkart to launch its quick commerce service despite failed talks with Zepto 19 Apr 2024 Like the failed discussions with Dunzo, its talks with Zepto are unlikely to be revived. It launched the service in 20 cities, including tier 2 cities like Guwahati and Ludhiana and metros like Bengaluru and Delhi. It also runs Flipkart Quick, a 90-120-minute delivery service for fruits and vegetables in some cities. Zepto and Blinkit are adding new stock-keeping units to cross 10,000 units across India. They are also venturing into eCommerce by tying up with apparel brands like Adidas, Jockey, Manyavar, and Pepe Jeans.
