  • Recipient-initiated transactions to stop from Oct 1 | Salestors.com

< Back Recipient-initiated transactions to stop from Oct 1 13 Aug 2025 The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) will shut down pull transactions to curb fraud. UPI payments work two ways. The ‘push’ system allows users to scan a QR code or input the recipient’s ID and make the payment. Via the ‘pull’ transactions, or ‘collect’ requests, the recipient generates the QR code with the payment amount fed in, and the user inputs their PIN to approve the payment. In 2019, the NPCI had capped the recipient-initiated ‘pull’ transactions at ₹2,000. At most, 50 such transactions are allowed in a day. These will be stopped altogether from October 1 st . India recorded 7 billion Person-to-Person (P2P) transactions in July, with 19.4 billion transactions recorded by NPCI overall. A year ago, the figure stood at 14 billion transactions overall, of which 5 billion were P2P. Several fraudsters pose as merchants to extract money from customers. RBI data reports 29,000 frauds occurred in FY2025 worth ₹1,457 crore. In FY2024, only 12,516 fraud cases worth ₹520 crore were reported. Never miss another post from SalestorsNews150. • OpenAI raises $40bn in funding, announces an open gen AI | Salestors.com

< Back OpenAI raises $40bn in funding, announces an open gen AI 1 Apr 2025 It is the biggest funding raised by a startup ever. On Monday, OpenAI made two announcements. First, it raised $40 billion in the latest funding round from SoftBank Group, valuing it at $300 billion —nearly double its $157 billion valuation in October 2024. SoftBank will initially infuse $10 billion, followed by an additional $30 billion by year-end, contingent upon specific conditions. One critical requirement is for OpenAI to transition to a for-profit model. If not met, OpenAI will forfeit up to 25% of the agreed-upon funding amount. This investment will support OpenAI’s $500 billion Stargate initiative, a significant AI project being developed in partnership with Oracle, SoftBank, and Abu Dhabi’s MGX. Second, it is building its first more open generative AI to compete with Meta’s Llama and DeepSeek, a significant shift from OpenAI’s usual, more secured, closed AI models. OpenAI’s latest image generator tool added one million users within the first hour after launch, thus heating its graphic processing units. Never miss another post from SalestorrsNews150. • Amazon sues Perplexity over agentic shopping feature | Salestors.com

< Back Amazon sues Perplexity over agentic shopping feature 10 Nov 2025 Perplexity’s shopping AI assistant uses automation to place orders on behalf of others. Amazon sued Perplexity AI in the US District Court, Northern District of California, for misconduct. It alleges that Perplexity’s AI agent and Comet browser illegally accessed Amazon’s confidential customer data to enable shopping assist and complete purchases in Amazon store. It also claims that Perplexity disguised automated activity as human browsing. Amazon issued several requests to stop, which, it says, were ignored. Perplexity accused Amazon of bullying by sending a legal threat asking it to block Comet AI from accessing the shopping portal. It calls this Amazon’s bid to protect its dominance. Comet browser’s AI assist helps users make product comparisons and complete purchases. The Amazon app has Rufus, an AI assistant, that recommends items and manages carts. The company is developing tools like ‘Buy for me’, which allows users to shop across brands within the app. Check out my new book, THE BLACK FLAMES , on Amazon Kindle. • Jio becomes the world’s leading mobile operator by data traffic | Salestors.com

< Back Jio becomes the world’s leading mobile operator by data traffic 24 Apr 2024 Total data traffic on Jio’s network reached 40.9 exabytes against China Mobile’s 38 exabytes between January and March 2024. Reliance Jio now boasts the world’s largest 5G subscriber base, a staggering 108 million, which accounts for up to 28% of its total wireless data traffic. Last financial year, Jio's subscriber base grew from 449 to 482 million, with each user consuming an average of 28.7 GB per month. The demand for AirFiber was also robust, spanning across 5,900 towns. However, its average revenue per user (ARPU) remained stagnant for three quarters and ended the year at ₹182 due to affordable JioBharat plans and promotional unlimited 5G plans. Jio offers 30% of its network coverage for free to 5G subscribers. In comparison, Bharti Airtel’s user base grew from 339 to 350 million, and ARPU reached ₹211 from ₹200, but a lower data usage of 22.5 GB. All telecom players are expected to gradually increase tariffs in FY2025 and FY2026 to monetise and earn ROI on 5G services. Previous Next
